Are You Ready to Apply for Financial Aid?
The first step is filling out your FAFSA. The form will ask you a series of questions to determine if you are eligible for financial aid. You will need to provide information about yourself and your financial situation, such as your name, Social Security number, date of birth, and address. Your parents may also need to provide information if you are a dependent.

Types of Financial Aid
Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant Program provides a foundation of financial assistance that may be supplemented by other resources. Eligibility for Pell Grants is the first determination made by the school for students applying for financial aid.
Federal Stafford Loan (FSL)
Federal Stafford Loans are low-interest loans available to qualified students through participating lending institutions, and are guaranteed by the U.S. government.
Direct Lending Program
Lu Ross Academy participates in the subsidized and unsubsidized Direct Lending Program directly with the Department of Education.
Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (FPLUS)
The Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (FPLUS) provides additional funds to help parents pay for educational expenses.
In-House Financing
Students who do not apply for financial aid may finance their education through our in-house payment plans. Lu Ross Academy’s financing offers flexible installment options and no interest when payments are made on time and paid in full by graduation.
Private Financing

Beauty Changes Lives Scholarships
The Beauty Changes Lives Foundation offers scholarships and celebrity mentorships throughout the year. Opportunities are available for current and prospective students, as well as licensed cosmetologists.
Great Clips Scholarship Program
In memory of Alice Madden Barton, Great Clips offers over $100,000 total in cosmetology or barber scholarships to students each year. Future stylists and barbers are invited to apply to receive a cosmetology or barber school tuition scholarship, valued at up to $5,000 each.
Beauty Schools Directory Scholarship
Future students pursuing careers in cosmetology, barbering, esthetics, and nail technology may apply for the $2,500 Beauty & Wellness Professionals Scholarship. Awarded four times per year, this scholarship is available to eligible applicants nationwide and may be applied toward tuition and education expenses.
The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation
The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation helps deserving students receive financial assistance for the professional training necessary to build successful, long-term careers in the cosmetology industry.
